A Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), Mr. Khandelwal has over 27 years of experience in handling Finance and Accounts portfolios. After serving JK Cement Works Limited for 8 years, Mr. Khandelwal joined Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) in 1998 as a Deputy Financial Advisor & Chief Accounts Officer (Internal Audit).
Thereafter, he held various important portfolios like General Manager (Finance), General Manager (Accounts) as well as Financial Advisor & Chief Accounts Officer (Project)/Jammu in the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project of KRCL. During this period, he oversaw Treasury Management, Debt Financing, Statutory & Internal Audit, Budgeting, Financial Analysis & Management Accounting, Provident Fund, Pension, Gratuity & Leave Encashment Schemes. Notably, he succeeded in managing KRCL’s financial debt by reducing the annual interest liability from Rs.309 crore to Rs.120 crore through replacement of high-interest bearing loans with low-interest bearing ones.
Mr. Khandelwal received awards both in 1995 & 1997, towards excellent maintenance of Trust Accounts and Income Tax work at JK Cement Works Ltd. He also received award in Konkan Railway for his notable work in the field of Debt Financing and Treasury Management.
